Ring yarn is a yarn made by twisting a thin, strong core yarn together to create a ring, which stabilizes unstable wool while maintaining a soft texture. It has a firm appearance like Melton, but also has a moderately soft texture. The design motif is based on the smog shirts worn by groundskeepers who maintain baseball stadiums. The string at the collar is a classic design that is originally designed to keep out rain and snow. The cuffs have elastic shirring and adjustable tabs with dot buttons, making it easy to put on and take off. The pockets have flaps to keep out rain, snow, and dirt. The shoulder lines and armholes, which are the areas that are most susceptible to stress, are reinforced with double stitching. The hem has an elastic spindle so the silhouette can be adjusted. The oversized silhouette can be worn loosely.
