Spring & Summer 2026
In the early 1920s, the first to third bases in baseball were made using fabric reinforced with sashiko-like stitching. To recreate the look of the fabric on these bases, we created a “sashiko” fabric woven on a special loom capable of twisting thick, 20-count cotton yarn to its limit, giving the fabric a strikingly textured surface. For this sashiko uniform jacket, the fabric was then treated with paraffin wax and a bio-wash process to soften its texture and make it comfortable to wear in the form of clothing. The design features exposed facing on the front that gives it a baseball uniform aesthetic, while the large hand-warmer pockets on the sides ensure comfort during the chilly days of early spring.
