To reduce the color saturation, this material has undergone a grunge wash treatment, which involves dyeing the fabric in small vats and omitting mercerization and bleaching. After dyeing, the fabric is dried in the full sun, which is both labor and time intensive, but results in a naturally faded look while ensuring minimal damage to the fabric. This results in a characteristic pattern that resembles spider lightning. The fabric maintains minimal contact with the skin, ensuring that it can be worn comfortably into summer. The design draws inspiration from the hoodies worn by substitutes and substituted players on the bench in baseball, with a wide-shouldered, relaxed silhouette and classic drawstring hood to block wind.
