Inspired by classic umpire pants, this style features an oversized pocket that runs from the waist to the hips. The fabric is a dry-touch cotton blend from the USA and Australia, spun using a technique that intentionally creates neps by adjusting the machinery during the carding process. Controlling the level of neps requires advanced skill, but it produces a natural, rustic texture. Because nep yarn is more fragile, weaving is done with precise control on a traditional rapier loom, which can handle delicate yarns like silk while maintaining stability. Each splash print is applied by hand, with craftsmen flicking one color at a time onto the fabric. This results in unique placement on every piece, making each garment one of a kind. The color palette uses three field-inspired tones: deep brown for the dirt, dark green for the fence, and white for the foul lines.
